The Give Blood Play Hockey “Keeper Award” is given to a team that goes above and beyond. The Keeper Award will be presented at each year’s tournament to the team that raises the most money for CHOC Children’s. So Give Blood Play Hockey Teams…. GAME ON!
In 2012, Give Blood Play Hockey upped the ante for Sponsors by offering a FREE TEAM REGISTRATION for a $1000 or more Sponsorship. Additionally, teams who raise money for CHOC will be in the running for the Give Blood Play Hockey Perpetual Keeper Award.
Our inaugural Keeper Award was presented to the team that inspired this award. NAI Capital, lead by Sonya Grech and Ryan Dopp, took the challenge of raising $1000 for a free team registration to a whole new level. They not only had a team in the 2012 event and reached their $1000 goal; they reached out to their families, friends and business associates and donated $2,682 for CHOC Children’s Hospital. Donations ranged in amounts from Large to Small with the most inspirational coming from “Little Kid” for $1.
It is our hope that teams participating in the 2016 tournament start the competition a little early this year and in the years to come. The direct pay link is open on the Give Blood Play Hockey website and teams can start raising money now. The winner of the 2015 award will be posted on the Give Blood Play Hockey Website all year long and will be honored at the 2016 tournament. The winning team will have their name engraved on the Keeper Award that will be placed in the trophy case at the rinks along with their team picture with the trophy.
Teams at Give Blood Play Hockey compete for more than just trophies and awards. Teams compete for a Brighter Future for Kids, for the Community and for an end of cancer. We thank you for your dedication to Give Blood Play Hockey, CHOC Children’s and to a Brighter Future for our community.

The items listed below are expenses incurred to make the Give Blood Play Hockey tournament a success. Each year we must pay tournament expenses out of team registration fees. Every year, our goal is to give as much as possible to the cause, and with your help we hope to get expenses underwritten so we can donate that much more to our co-benefactors, CHOC Children’s and Tgen. Dear Friends and Neighbors,
On behalf of the Give Blood Play Hockey Inline Hockey Charity Tournament organizers, I would like to invite you to be an in-kind donor and/or sponsor for our 11th annual tournament and fundraising event in Irvine, California. This year we have raised the bar again. We will be hosting 100+ teams in the tournament. The Anaheim Ducks will be promoting the event in radio and television interviews. Players will be there (pending playing schedule), as will Wild Wing, the Power Players and the Street Team. There will be lots of fun things going on, but most importantly we will surpass the 3,000-pint mark in our blood drive, and we hope to reach the $875,000 level in total donations to CHOC and also make an impactful donation to our new joint benefactor Tgen. It is an exciting time! By contributing an in-kind donation of gift certificates or merchandise it would be greatly appreciated and used as part of our raffle/silent auction. Being an in-kind donor is a wonderful opportunity to reach the public while contributing to the fight against pediatric cancer. Our committee and the Give Blood Play Hockey organizers greatly appreciate your efforts to make a difference in our community but even more importantly a difference in a child’s fight to survive this horrible disease.
The 11th annual Give Blood Play Hockey Inline Hockey Tournament is right around the corner, October 19-22, 2017 at The Rink Irvine Inline – and it’s time to begin making this year’s event even bigger than before.
